1. Introduction

Birdview Energy BV ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect and use information when you visit our website at birdviewenergy.ai.

2. What data we collect

Google Analytics 4 is the only analytics tool we use, and it loads only after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. The other third-party services this site can contact are listed below; none of them is contacted before you accept, except where stated.

• Elfsight renders our LinkedIn feed on the blog page. Until you accept, a placeholder is shown and no request is made to Elfsight. Governed by Elfsight's Privacy Policy.
• Google Maps shows our office location on the contact page. Until you accept, a placeholder is shown and no request is made to Google. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• CARTO serves the basemap tiles of the offshore wind map. Until you accept, the map shows the project markers without a basemap and no request is made to CARTO. Governed by CARTO's Privacy Policy.
• dashboard.bessview.online is our own market-data dashboard, operated by Birdview Energy BV. The market data pages and the homepage embed it directly; it sets no cookies and runs no analytics of its own.

Web fonts, scripts and images are served from birdviewenergy.ai itself. No font or script is loaded from a third-party host before you accept.

Google Analytics collects:

• Pages you visit and time spent on each page
• How you arrived at our site (e.g., search engine, direct link)
• General geographic location (country/city level, not precise location)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Anonymized IP address

We do NOT collect: names, email addresses, precise location, or any other personally identifiable information through analytics.

Contact, demo and registration forms

When you send us a form (contact, demo request, masterclass registration) we receive the details you enter: name, email address, company, country, your message and, for the masterclass, your role. The forms are processed by Formspree (Formspree Inc., United States), which forwards each submission to info@birdviewenergy.ai and stores a copy in our Formspree account. Formspree acts as our processor under its privacy policy and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

We use form data only to answer your request or handle your registration (GDPR Article 6(1)(b), performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps at your request). We keep it for as long as needed to handle the request and delete it afterwards, unless a contract follows. We never use it for marketing lists without asking you first.

3. Purpose of data collection

We use this data solely to:

• Understand which pages are most useful to visitors
• Improve our website content and user experience
• Identify technical issues
• Measure the effectiveness of our content

We do NOT use this data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Legal basis

Under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), we process analytics and embed data based on your consent. Google Analytics and the third-party embeds listed in section 2 only load after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you click "Decline", no analytics data is collected and no embed is loaded. Form data is processed under Article 6(1)(b), as described in section 2.

5. Cookies used

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

Once accepted, the embeds in section 2 (Elfsight, Google Maps, CARTO) may set their own cookies or local storage under their own policies.

We also store your cookie preference in your browser's localStorage (key: "cookieConsent") so we don't ask you repeatedly, and, on the homepage, whether you dismissed the masterclass notice (key: "masterclassPromoDismissed").

6. Data retention

Google Analytics keeps analytics data for 14 months and then deletes it automatically. We have configured Google Analytics to use the shortest available retention period.

7. International data transfers

Google Analytics data may be processed by Google LLC in the United States. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and maintains appropriate safeguards for data transfers.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), you have the right to:

• Withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in our footer
• Access information about what data we hold about you
• Rectification of inaccurate personal data
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your data
• Restriction of processing
• Data portability: receive your data in a structured format
• Object to data processing

9. How to opt out

You can opt out of Google Analytics in several ways:

• Click "Decline" on our cookie banner
• Click "Cookie Settings" in our footer to change your preference
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
