Software Developer
About the Role
We're looking for a talented Software Developer to join our team and help build cutting-edge tools for battery energy storage system (BESS) optimization and grid analysis. You'll work on developing web applications, data processing pipelines, and analytical tools that help our clients make informed investment decisions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain web applications for energy data visualization and analysis
- Build data processing pipelines for market data and battery performance metrics
- improve the existing software platform BESSview
- Collaborate with our BESS modeling team to integrate optimization algorithms
- Work with APIs and databases to handle large datasets
- Contribute to the development of our proprietary energy analytics platform
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages
- Experience with web frameworks (Sveltekit, React, Vue.js, or similar)
- Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
- Experience with data visualization libraries (Apache eCharts, D3.js, Plotly, or similar)
- Understanding of REST APIs and web services
- Interest in renewable energy and sustainability
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with energy markets or battery technologies
- Knowledge of machine learning and data science
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with time series data analysis
BESS Modeler
About the Role
We're seeking a BESS Modeler to join our team and develop sophisticated models for battery energy storage system optimization. You'll work on creating mathematical models, simulation tools, and optimization algorithms that help our clients maximize the value of their battery investments and optimize grid operations.
What You'll Do
- Develop mathematical models for battery performance and degradation
- Create optimization algorithms for energy arbitrage and grid services
- Build simulation tools for BESS sizing and configuration
- Analyze market data to optimize battery dispatch strategies
- Develop models for revenue optimization and risk assessment
- Collaborate with software developers to integrate models into our platform
- Provide technical expertise for client projects and consultations
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in energy storage modeling or optimization
- Strong background in mathematical modeling and optimization
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar technical computing languages
- Experience with optimization solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, or similar)
- Knowledge of battery technologies and energy storage systems
- Understanding of electricity markets and grid operations
- Experience with time series analysis and statistical modeling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of European electricity markets, like day ahead, intraday, imbalance, aFRR etc.
Nice to Have
- PhD in relevant field
- Experience with machine learning and AI techniques
- Knowledge of European electricity markets
- Experience with grid-scale battery projects
- Familiarity with renewable energy integration challenges
