About the role

We're looking for a Software Developer to help build our tools for battery energy storage (BESS) optimization and grid analysis: web applications, data pipelines and analytical tooling that clients use for investment decisions.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain web applications for energy data visualization and analysis
• Build data processing pipelines for market data and battery performance metrics
• Improve the existing BESSview software platform
• Collaborate with our BESS modelling team to integrate optimization algorithms
• Work with APIs and databases to handle large datasets
• Extend the analysis code behind BirdCurve and BirdFlow

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages
• Experience with web frameworks (SvelteKit, React, Vue.js, or similar)
• Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
• Experience with data visualization libraries (Apache eCharts, D3.js, Plotly, or similar)
• Understanding of REST APIs and web services
• Interest in renewable energy and sustainability
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with energy markets or battery technologies
• Knowledge of machine learning and data science
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with time series data analysis

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Business Development Manager to help grow Birdview Energy across the European energy market. You will work directly with the founders and technical team to build relationships with developers, investors and other market participants, and turn those into commercial projects.

Birdview works on battery storage, electricity markets, grid congestion and energy analytics, so you will need to match the problem a client is working on to the right Birdview product or service.

What you'll do

• Identify and approach potential clients across the European energy market
• Build relationships with renewable and BESS developers, investors, utilities, EPCs and industrial energy users
• Qualify leads and decide which ones are worth a proposal
• Run client conversations and gradually take ownership of the sales process
• Prepare proposals and presentations, and demonstrate Birdview's software and analytics
• Build and maintain a structured commercial pipeline and CRM
• Represent Birdview at conferences and industry events
• Bring client questions back to our modelling and software teams

What we're looking for

• 0 to 3 years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, energy or a comparable commercial role
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Energy, Sustainability or a related field
• Strong commercial instinct and confidence communicating with clients
• Curious and able to quickly understand technical and commercial concepts
• Structured and disciplined in managing leads, follow-ups and opportunities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• IT skills: Excel and data tools, ideally Python or SQL
• Independent, proactive and comfortable in a small team where the process is not written down yet

Nice to have

• Experience in electricity markets (trading, imbalance, congestion) or a strong drive to learn them quickly
• Experience in B2B software, analytics, consulting or technical sales
• Existing network within the European renewable energy sector
• Dutch or German language skills
• Interest in BESS, power markets, grid congestion and energy trading
